Escalating inflation and the outrageous rents in Hong Kong mean that most designers can no longer afford to set up their own design studios or businesses. Yau Kee Architecture and the Hong Kong Creative Professionals Association have therefore been keeping their eyes on the Former Married Police Quarters in Hollywood Road, Central, and have proposed the transformation of the site into a new Creativity Hub.
Their proposal outlines their dream of a hub where designers can rent a reasonably priced space to display their products and their creativity. This exhibition showcases the proposal, to which over 100 designers and students have contributed their ideas.
